I'll go with what the Biggest UT fan I know said, "He'll be gone within 3 years, and everyone will be wanting Fulmer back".

My thoughts on Kiffin:

I don't know. I like that he's young, I like that he's had success recruiting before, I like that it will be an open competition between players and you don't have to wait till you're a JR to see the field, most importantly I like that CB's won't play 15 yards off the ball and safety's won't be 25 yards off the ball. Hopefully, it works. I can't get much worse than this year, so if it doesn't work..... next.

It's better than keeping him around till he's 90 for no other reason than trying to outpoint another 90 year old by 1 win. If he's gone, he's gone.

Bowden isn't even 80, and he was given a lifetime contract years ago, when you have done what he has you can stay around as long as you want.

It's also about having a AD and University President who doesn't piss themselves if someone threatens to take their money and run.

Fulmer was done wrong and everyone knows it, if Bowden was done the way Fulmer was I would have a hard time rooting for the 'Noles in the future.

I'm not one of these guys who wants someone fired every time my team loses a game, maybe it comes from actually doing some coaching.

Fulmer was great and should have been let stay there for another 20 years, yet you and many others had no trouble making pot shots over the last several years, saying they'd never fire him, and making countless other cheapshots. It was ok as long as he was there, now he was done wrong.

With FSU fans, it was never Bobby. It was fire Bowden JR every year, fire the OL coach every year, fire the WR coach every year, fire the RB coach every year. Your distaste for firing coaches went about as far as "as long as it's not the dinosaur". Of course if the dinosaur had been fired (which basically has happened since you say he's not even the coach anymore (is he coherent enough to even know that now, by the way?)) it would have been "justified", "time to move on", "it should have happened ealier".

UT has to have an AD and a president who pisses themself if they're losing money. It's a state that doesn't have the revenue that states like FL, CA, and TX has. That one program supports every other sport at the university, dozens of non athletic scholarships, and dozens of non athletic programs within the school and outside school.

Maybe Kiffin can get some more of those kids from the ghetto like Pearl has got and win some games.
